Bilstein 5100 Shocks

Bilstein came into being all the way back in 1873 as a galvanizing factory and a foundry for hardware related to residential windows.  The company was named after the man who founded it – August Bilstein – and as such originally carried the name AUBI.  When Mr. Bilstein’s son – Hans – took over the company, he changed the name to Bilstein and brought them to what they do now – shock absorbers for vehicles.

Bilstein has the distinction of being the company to first perfect the type of shock absorber known as the gas pressure monotube type.  This was in 1954 and it revolutionized the industry.  4 years later, these shocks became OE on Mercedes.  From there, Bilstein took the next logical step – the one to the races.  Ultimately, the race inspired shocks are what they are now most known for.

It doesn’t matter if you are in the deserts of the Baja or any racetrack across the planet, your competition will be obliterated when you are running with Bilstein shocks.  Racers who truly are on a quest to get that checkered flag invariably choose shocks made by Bilstein because of the cutting edge technology that they represent as well as their durability that cannot be matched.  Bilstein didn’t stop there though.  They took everything that they learned from the racks and applied that knowledge to the shocks that they make for the streets.  By doing this, they really do bring out only the very best in your ride.

5100 Shocks

This particular series of shocks has been made specifically for Jeeps, SUVs and trucks that have been lifted.  These shocks deliver not just comfort and handling that is superior to other shocks but also a superior control.  They have a super damping ability that makes these adjustable shocks the perfect ones for off road driving as well as heavy hauling while making sure that you have a comfortable ride.

These leveling shocks have a monotube design that will immediately adjust to whatever the driving surface may be.  This allows you to get the ultimately smooth ride no matter where you are.  The shock body is one that has a large diameter and will give you a performance that is free from fade.  The finish is a multi-layer zinc finish and this type of finish will keep your shocks lasting longer.

5100 shocks by Bilstein have been made for a wide variety of very specific lift and vehicle specifications.  This means that you are able to get a precision that is dialed in.  Installation is easy and requires no drilling, cutting or welding.  These shocks come backed by a Bilstein lifetime warranty too.  The combination of all of these features should be enough to tell you that these are the shocks you need on your lifted rig.
